Some brands begin with a map. Ours began with a friendship. For a long time, we were two people searching for a place to belong, and when we couldn’t find one, we decided to build it ourselves.

Who We Are: Never Alone in the Water

We have spent our lives learning who we are, slowly and imperfectly, and always side by side. There were seasons that asked everything of us, and through every one of them, we had each other. KOI was born from that bond. It is what happens when two people refuse to let go of the same dream.

The Dragon Gate: Why We Chose KOI

An old legend tells of koi swimming upstream along the Yellow River, moving against a current that never softens. At the end of the river stands a great waterfall known as the Dragon Gate. Thousands of koi leap toward it, and most are carried back down. But the ones who rise above it, the story says, are transformed into dragons. It is not the strongest fish that is changed, or the luckiest. It is the one that never turns around. We named our brand after that fish because it is the only story we have ever believed in.

Wabi-Sabi: Beauty in the Journey

The beauty of life is found in the moments that shape us, not in everything being perfect. We believe the same is true for the spaces we call home. A room doesn't need to be flawless to feel beautiful. Sometimes it's the smallest details, the right atmosphere, or the feeling of finally being somewhere you can relax. KOI was built from that same mindset. Two friends with a vision, learning and growing through every challenge along the way. Like the spaces we hope to inspire, our story is still being written. And that's what makes it meaningful. Beauty isn't about perfection. It's about appreciating the journey and creating something that feels like your own.

What We Create: A Home That Feels Like You

KOI is home decor for those who want their space to breathe. Each piece is chosen with care, to bring stillness, softness, and intention into the place you return to at the end of the day. We believe a home should be more than somewhere to rest. It should be where you gather yourself and begin again. Every object earns its place in our collection, or it does not stay.

Our Promise: To Keep Rising

Wherever you are on your own journey, whether you have found your place or are still searching, we understand. We cannot promise the climb will be easy, but we can promise that everything we create carries the same quiet determination that built us. May your home remind you, always, to keep rising.
