KOI began with two friends, a shared vision, and a refusal to give up.

That determination is what led us to the story of the koi fish and the Dragon Gate.

According to an ancient legend, koi fish swim against powerful currents, fighting their way upstream toward a towering waterfall known as the Dragon Gate. While many turn back, those that persevere and reach the top are transformed into dragons — a symbol of strength, growth, and overcoming adversity.

We saw ourselves in that story.
